Mangalore : The Mangalore Christian Council’ is celebrating its golden jubilee on Nov 15, Thursday at Bishop Jathanna Auditorium of Theological College, Balmatta at 5 pm.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 10, Saturday Rev John Baptist Saldanha, secretary, Executive Committee, MCC said that MCC is a voluntary body of Christians, under the patronage of the Bishops of the church of South India- The Southern Karnataka Diocese and the Catholic Diocese of Mangalore. It has membership drawn from the various Christian denominations in Mangalore, calling people to live in harmony and peace, promoting unity among Christians and the values of Christ Jesus.
On the occasion, the council will hold a programme for thanksgiving. Rev Fr Ronnie Prabhu SJ will be felicitated on the occasion. The MCC Pioneers and MCC Officials will honoured on the occasion. The book ‘A Brief History of MCC’ will be released on the occasion. Bishop Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will deliver the message, he said.
Later various cultural programmes from the children of others schools will be held. Rev Dr Hannibal Cabral, F M Lobo, Dennis D’Sa and others were present.
