Mangalore : Mega Media will be hosting a Cultural Festival-2013 at Town Hall in Mangalore on January 18, Friday at 4.30 pm as part of its decennial celebrations. The programme will feature felicitation to outstanding achievers, entertainment programmes and a public function.
Mega Media which began its journey in the year 2002, has completed ten years in December 2012. “We have the satisfaction and pride of serving the media as a web portal and also through advertising, publicity, web designing and web hosting services,”said Shivaprasad, Editor of Mega Media.
“We have received very encouraging response from all media, advertisers and social organizations since our inception in 2002. It is this encouragement that has motivated us and strengthened our commitments,” he further added.
.In the past five years, our web portal has progressed significantly and we have been receiving responses from all over India and abroad. We have over 25000 readers around the globe, he said.
Nage Habba : As part of Cultural Festival-2013 there will be Nage Habba at Town Hall. Noted Kannada comedy Star Tennis Krishna will be the star attraction, while there will be a ‘Padataala’programme by Mime Ramdas troupe of ‘Vaa Porluya’fame. Adityanarayan Innavalli will render songs. The programme will be held from 4.30 pm to 5.45 pm.
Public Function : Former Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Harikrishna Punaroor will inaugurate the function. Ganesh Rao, Chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges, will preside and Mahabaleshwar Bhat, General Manager of Karnataka Bank Head office, will release the special issue.

Mega Media Journalism Award : The Award will be conferred on Vijaya Karnataka’s Mangalore reporter Steven Rego Darandakukku for his article “ Kattalalli Moodi Banthu Belaku” published in Karavali Section of Vijayakarnataka dated December 6,2011. The Awardee was selected by a panel of judges comprising UK Kumarnath of Vijaya Karnataka, Harish Rai PB of Vijayavani and Jagannath Shetty Baala of Jayakirana.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000, memento and citation.
