Mangalore : A student resident of Kollam in Kerala committed suicide by hanging herself in a hostel room at Kankanady in Mangalore here on Wednesday July 2.
The deceased has been identified as Manjusha Nair (21), student of BSc (MLT) at a college in the city.
Sources said, she had failed in Microbiology in her second year BSc., and had no hopes of clearing the supplementary exam too. Manjusha also suffered from chest pain and she was under medication.
Manjusha has left behind a death note stated that she was ‘not a good daughter to her parents’ and did not want to disappoint them by failing again; for this reason she was taking this extreme step.
The body was shifted to Wenlock for post-mortem.
Inspector T D Nagaraj along with officials from Kadri police station arrived at the spot.
Kadri police have registered a case.
