Mangaluru : Six Officials from Escoms have been transferred after Chief Minister who is holding Energy Ministers Portfolio and MD, KPTCL has ordered for the same, after receiving many complaints against them. Manjappa, Superintending Engineer (Ele) MESCOM, O&M Circle, Attavara, Mangalore who was also acting Chief Engineer (Elec) has been transferred to KPTCL, Transmission Circle, Belgavi.
According to the transfer order no.90290 (18-19) dated August 1, 2018 signed by Director Admin (HR) Dr. Gopalakrishna Director (Admin and HR) of KPTCL Bangalore, all those six officials transferred will have to report to duty immediately.
Those who fail to report to duty and try to use influence to cancel their transfer , “action will be taken as per rule of conduct” according to Director, Admin & HR’s order
Sources, state, that, when Manjappa was the Executive Engineer, Division no.1 Mescom, Attavar, an RTI and Human Rights activists, Haneef Saheb Pajapalla had made complaint of Unauthorised extension of electricity since 2007 by KMC Hospital, Attavar. Raids were conducted by Mescom Vigilance, and according to the Mazhaar, 3.43 Crores was derived as fine amount. According to Haneef, 2.1 Crores was claimed as fine amount by Mescom by issuing illegitimate notice and allowed KMC Hospital, to approach the court, which ordered Mescom to collect fine as per Mescom Electricity Supply Rules. This caused a huge loss to Mescom. The same year, complaint was made to Vigilance, Mescom about theft of copper cable, worth 2 Crores, between 12 spans on Bandaramanegudde, near Adyar, Kannur, from a 33 KVA line from MUSS Kulasekara towards Bantwal and the complaint was brought to the notice of Manjappa, but no action was intiated.
