Udupi: A migrant labourer from Badami (North Karnataka), known as Basavantappa(45) was brutally murdered in his cottage, on Sunday(April8) at night, on KVA Road.

The body was found by Shaukat Ali, a fleet owner on his visit to the neighbourhood. Last night, the labourer was seen alive with two others inside the cottage, but this Sunday morning, the door was open. So, Shaukat went in and found the dead body, and some blood stains on the floor.

The deceased is allegedly murdered by his room-mate only. Circle Inspector Girish is looking into the case of drunken arguments leading to murder.
