Mangaluru : Milagres Collegein association with Karnataka Cashew Manufacturer’s Association organized a two day food festival ‘Relish 2020’ in the Milagres Church Grounds on 8&9 February, 2020.
The grand festival was inaugurated by Mr Subraya Pai, President,Karnataka Cashew Manufacturer’s Association. Along with the Chief Guest, Guest of honor Mr J Mandal, Executive Chef, The Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru, Mr Walter D’ Souza, Rev Fr Joseph Lobo, Correspondent of Milagres institutions, Mr Vittal Shenoy, Secretary, KCMA, Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor, Principal, Mr Nigel Pereira, Vice President, Milagres Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mrs Hilda Rodrigues, Secretary,Milagres Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mr Denzil D’Costa, Convener and student coordinators Mr Rufus and Ms Dencita were present for the program.
Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor welcomed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion Mr Subraya Pai Congratulated and appreciated the efforts of staff and students in putting up the festival on such a grand scale.
The attraction of the festival was the cooking competition which was open to public. Ms Rasheeda Rasheed and Ms Sara Nihala won the first and Second prizes respectively. Third prize was shared by Ms Florine Tania Goveas and Mr Jordan Mark N Prabhu.
The festival was concluded on February 9, 2020 at 11pm. Chief Guest Dr Meera Aranha, Director, TAPMI, Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor, Mr Denzil D’Costa were present for the valedictory program.
Delicacies ranging from Mangalorean Pork Bafat to Mocktails, Biriyani, Chats and bakery items were prepared and sold by the staff and students which received enormous appreciation from the public. A large number of lay people enjoyed the savories and lauded the hard work and culinary skills of the students.
Students of B Sc. HS, B Sc. FND and all the staff took active part in the smooth running and success of this event.
