Bantwal : In a move of support to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, he was met by mining baron and former BJP minister Janardhan Reddy, at Kalladka on Tuesday August 22. He was engaged in discussions with Prabhakar Bhat, and has also took part in the school children prayer.
Since Sri Rama Vidya Kendra’s grants from Kollur temple were withdrawn by the government citing rules.,Reddy said that he was visiting this school, and that too after a gap of 13 years. “ I cannot feel at home, where ever I am, when Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is facing problem and hence I came to meet him.. He said, “we will make sure that the school will thrive and flourish and fully supporting the ‘Bhikshandehi’ movement, and handed over Rs 26 lac along with his friends, to this school”.
Reddy said, “It is the cruel act of the government to deny food from school children, for which they will face punishment within six months and for a school that has instilled patriotism in students, this is not the way to be treated. The district in-charge minister ,Ramanath Rai and state government in the name of governance, have played dirty politics in withdrawing the temple grants to this school. He expects, in the coming days, people of this state will give a befitting reply .
It was announced that on the ninth day of the movement, a sum of Rs 38 lakhs was received in total including Rs 26 lac given by Reddy. So far 5,000 kg rice have been received by the school and that Mahesh Vikram Hegde, the brain behind the above movement, said that he and others behind the movement are confident of reaching the target of Rs 80 lakhs soon.
