Mangalore, July 14: Coastal Development Authority chairman, former minister and former Bantwal MLA Bailumeginamane Nagaraja Shetty have announced his resignation from the post of ministerial rank and also to the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on July 14, Saturday, he said that earlier there were lakhs of activists who worked to build the party by just giving biscuits and water, but now the present politicians in the party are fighting for the posts in the party. Hence I have decided to quit the party and politics and lead my life as a social worker.
He also said that further too he will not contest in any election in any of the constituency. I am fed up with politics, hence submitted resignation letter to CM yesterday and tomorrow also he will send a copy of letter to CM with his supporters.
He also said that JD(S) and Sreeramulu’s BSR parties have contacted him to join their party but he has not yet decided on these matters.
Earlier the fights in politics were only confined to Lingayats and Gowdas. But now it has come down to coastal region between Bunts and Billawa’s and growing disorder in the party is responsible for it.
