Mangaluru: Union Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu, flagged off the Mangaluru Junction-Yeshwanthpur ‘Kudla Express’ on Sunday through video conference.
Dignitaries including Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, district in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and other representatives were present at Mangaluru Junction.
‘Kudla Express’ left the city at 11 am and will reach Yeshwanthpur at 8.30 pm. The train will have 14 coaches including four second class chair cars, eight general second class coaches and two second class luggage-cum-break-van coaches for the physically handicapped.
The train will run thrice week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Mangaluru and on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from Yeshwanthpur.
