Mangaluru : The Dakshina Kannada district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday charged that Minister K. Abhayachandra Jain’s allegations of having received threat calls from underworld operator Ravi Poojary was a ploy to divert the attention of people from Bajrang Dal activist Prashant Poojary murder case.
Vice-president Umanath Kotian told presspersons that it looked like a stage-managed show by Mr. Jain who , as an MLA of Moodabidri, did not utter a single word on the ghastly murder of Prashant Poojary.
Mr. Kotian dared the government to order a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate into Ravi Poojary’s links.
At the same time, the party also demanded CBI probe into Prashant Poojary murder case and all other reported atrocities against Hindus in Dakshina Kannada district.
The silence of Mr. Jain and district in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai over the murder case as well as increasing attacks on Hindus raises suspicion if the government has been behind all these acts, Mr. Kotian said.
