Punjalkatte : The first oxygen-producing plant in the Dakshina Kannada district was inaugurated on June 5, at Vamadapadavu Primary Health Centre in Bantwal taluk.
District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated the new unit.
Speaking to reporters later, he said that this was the first oxygen unit established in the district and will help in alleviating the medical oxygen shortage in the district.
“This unit has a capacity to generate 46 litres of oxygen per minute. We will be setting up such units in various taluks of the district in the coming days,” he added.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Rajesh Ulippadiguttu and many other government and district officials were present during the inauguration.
