Mangalore : District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar laid the foundation stone at ceremony held at Jeppu Market on March 28, Monday.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone, he said that the market which is coming under the limits of Mangalore City Corporation will be built as the full pledged market as per the convenience of the fisher women and customers in partnership with National Fisheries Development Corporation.
The market will be constructed in the approximate cost of Fisheries Development Corporation has sanctioned the amount of Rs 83.25 lakhs and MCC will release the fund of Rs 9.25 lakhs, he said.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy speaker N Yogesh Bhat said that along with the development of these markets, the markets located at Urwa Market, Urwa Circle, Kuloor junction, Kavoor and other places will be developed.
Apart from this the long awaited mistakes of Comprehensive Development Project (CDP) had been discusses at the assembly under the leadership of Suresh Kumar. District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Mayor Praveen, Manjunath Bhandary, chairman of MUDA and other officials working under UD department has worked to simplify the norms for the city residents who are willing to build their homes in 3 cents.
The government will work for the development of city by proving the basic facilities to the public, he added.
Later the foundation stone laying ceremony was also held in Alake Market with the approximate cost of Rs 65 lakhs.
Mayor Praveen, deputy mayor Geetha Nayak and other members of MCC were present on the occasion.
