Mangaluru: Foundation stone for the construction of Urwa market and commercial complex was laid by district in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai on Monday.
The complex is to be built at the cost of Rs 12 crore jointly by Mangaluru City Corporation and Mangaluru Urban Development Authority.
Speaking on the occasion Minister Rai said “Many developmental works have been done by the elected representatives of MCC and MLAs. MCC has implemented many pro-people projects and succeeded in implementing governmental projects effectively.”
MCC Mayor Harinath said that as the public of this area needed a genuine and hygienic market for their shopping’s, this building has been constructed.
MUDA Chairman Shrikant Rao, MLA J R Lobo, corporators and others were present.
