Udupi : Acting upon several complaints from the public regarding the irregularities as well as the inordinate delay caused in disbursal of files as well as distribution of ration cards, the Udupi District Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari  on December 3, Monday gave a surprise visit to the taluk office and took the officials to task for dereliction of duty.

He also noticed that several officials had abstained without  any notice while some had not signed the attendance register. He directed the tahsildar to send notices to all the abstaining officials seeking clarifications.

Referring to complaints from the public on the delay in issuing ration cards, the Minister assured to take remedial measures at the earliest . He also exhorted officials to  be quick in clearing files pertaining to the public.

On this occasion, the staff of the office demanded additional computes and staff to cope with the increasing work pressure. The Minister assured to hold talks with the DC on this issue.
