Mangalore : Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation chairman Anwar Manipady said that there is no compulsory rule of wearing the scarf in the class even in the Quran. The people of the community are tarnishing the image of the party by going against it.
Speaking at the review meeting on the minorities department at DC office conference hall on September 13, Tuesday, he said that the students must be uniformity in the class and there is no necessary of wearing scarf by the Muslim girl students. This rule must be banned.
He also said that earlier we studied the history and achievement of lord Jesus, Mahaveera, Buddha, Prophet Mohammed, Mother Therasa, and story of other religious leaders in the academic text books, but now when the BJP came as the ruling party, they are opposing each and every move in the education.
Speaking on the Wakf property, he said that there are 703 Wakf Mosques in the notified land and the records of 231 Mosques have not been updated to the Tashildar. He said that the Mosque committee has to update the records and report it to him in ten days. If the Mosque committee gives the gift deeds to the Tashildar, it will be easy to get RTC.
Speaking to the police department on the victims of church attack, Manipady said that the government has also assured the Christian community to take back the cases, but there are certain procedures. The victims have the criminal case on them for ten years and they are facing lot of problem to get the passport to go for foreign country for job purpose. The police department instead of placing the victims photo on the board in the station must kept it in the drawer, since it affects the life of their unmarried sisters.
He said that he is not happy with the work by the concerned department like DDPI, Horticulture, Police, Hospital and other and will hold a follow up meeting soon. Around 2-3 officlas will also be suspended during the procedure, he added.
KMDC Secretary Maffeq Ahmed, DC Dr Channappa Gowda, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, ZP CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash and others were present at the meeting.
