Bangalore : Jyoti Prakash Mirji, recently transferred police commissioner of Bangalore has been re-appointed. Ragavendra Auradhkar, the present commissioner has been transferred.
Soon after the swearing –in-ceremony of the ministers, the cabinet has taken the decision of removing Auradhkar from the post of police commissioner, Bangalore. He has been appointed by election commissioner in view of recently held State assembly election. Mr. Mirji has appealed to Karnataka administrative tribunal challenging his transfer. He has been re-instated immediately after the new government resumed the power. The placement for Auradhkar is still not decided and will be known after few days.
Raghavendra Auradhkar is credited with orderly conduct of recently held State election (Bangalore area ) and speedy investigation of bomb blast case which occurred near BJP office in Bangalore.
