Bantwal: A group of miscreants attacked  two youths at Manihalla near B C Road on Thursday night. The result ended with killing one and another youth was seriously  injured.

Harish (28), a resident of Navoor, succumbed to stab injuries while his friend Samiulla has been admitted to a hospital.

It is said that the two had been to a playground to play cricket and while returning home, they were attacked by a gang near Old Gate area. When the gang was attacking Harish, Samiulla rushed to his help, but ended up being injured.

A seriously injured Harish was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.

The killing left Bantwal tense and to avert untoward incidents in the area, the police have stepped up security in the region.
