Mangaluru : A private bus which parked in front of a petrol pump near the city’s Mangaladevi temple completely burnt down on Monday late night.

The bus named Rajalakshmi, which runs Mangalore-Suratkal on Route 15, was parked at the same spot after the recent lockdown was announced. There were also four other buses belonging to Rajalakshmi Company parked in same place. But, only one bus gutted in fire.

Sources said that the bus caught fire at about 2 am on Tuesday May 18.

A complaint has been lodged at the Pandeshwar police station and the police have arrived and investigated. It is possible that someone give the flame it to the bus is a mischief act.

It is said, there is no chance of a fire from the short circuit, if bus parked long days battery may weaken.
