Bangalore: Tragedy struck Anitha and Tammanna couple when their missing three year old girl child was found dead in a nearby lake on Thursday morning. Though the couple hailed from Gowribidanur, Anitha had come to her parental house at Hunasamaranahalli six months ago, for her second delivery. It is suspected that the child Harshitha was a victim of some black magic act.
Harshitha who was playing in front of the house on June 25, went missing all of a sudden and the family had lodged a complaint after search for her proved futile. The body was found mutilated beyond recognition and the child was identified on the basis of the dress she was wearing. That the thumb in the right hand and two fingers in the left hand of the child has been chopped off, has given room for suspicion that this was a part of some black magic ritual.
Neena Nayak, Chairperson of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights has expressed shock over the incident and expressed concern over the rising cases of child abuse and murder.
Vasudev Sharma, President of Child Rights Trust feels such incidents may reduce only when those found guilty in earlier such cases are subject to stern punishment.
