Mangalore : Dr. Mithra Nidarsh Hegde called a press meet regarding the controversy surrounding her claim of 2010 that she was appointed as the private dentist of President Prathibha Patel on April 11 Wednesday.

She was accompanied by Gaurav Hegde, but left with him without answering most of the questions of the media.

Later, Gaurav returned only to have a tiff with Ansar, a reporter for Jaya Kirana Kannada daily, who wanted to know his name. Gaurav had previously not revealed his identity to the media.

Gaurav is said to have pushed Ansar, which made the reporters very angry. They demanded an apology from Gaurav, following which there was a heated exchange between Gaurav and the reporters.

The Barke police have arrested Gaurav for alleged assault.
