Mangaluru : The coalition candidate from the Congress, Mithun Rai filed his nomination from Congress for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha elections at deputy commissioner’s office on Monday, March 25.

Mithun Rai offered prayers at Rosario Cathedral, Kudroli temple and Ullal Dargah and participated in Congress convention held at Town Hall. Later Rai went in procession to file his nomination.

Speaking at Convention Mithun Rai said,” This district is my house and people are like my family. I will not do any work that will embarrass the people of the district.  Give me one opportunity. I will try my best to make sure jobs are created for the youth. I urge all the party representatives to work for me for the next 25 days. And for the next five years I will work for you,”

A procession was took out from Town Hall, to DC office along with Congress leaders, Mithun Rai to file nomination papers.

District in-charge minister U T Khader, Ivan D Souza, former minister Ramanath Rai, former MLAs J R Lobo, Moideen Bawa, Shakunthala Shetty, JDS leader Amarnath Shetty, district JDS president Mohammed Kunhi and others were present.
