Mangaluru: Two more accused in the fake marks card racket were nabbed by the city crime branch (CCB) police on Sunday March 10th.
The arrested have been identified as Askan Sheikh (25) and Asraruddin (26) from Chembugudde who were absconding from the police. Previously, on March 14th the CCB police had busted the racket and arrested Godwin D’Souza.
Mangalore Institute of Technological Sciences (MITS) on T C Road, Thokkottu was printing fake marks card and selling them for amounts ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 45,000 per certificate. This bogus institute MITS was run by its director Askan Sheik since 2016 and Godwin was employed here.
The certificates were prepared within a week of Principal Askar Sheikh, director Askan Sheikh and Godwin’s gathering information of the students and the unemployed. They charged Rs. 10,000 per SSLC certificate and PUC certificate and Rs. 40,000 per degree or diploma certificate.
