Mangaluru : The VIPs of Mangaluru gathered together to celebrate Christmas at St Aloysius campus on Tuesday.
Representatives from public administration, civil authority, service sector and law and order shared the joy and peace of Christmas together. This opportunity was organized by Mangaluru Jesuits Educational Society (MJES) at St Aloysius High School Auditorium at 7:00 pm as a gratitude to their contribution and hardship to the society.
Dr Shantharam Shetty, an eminent alumnus of St Aloysius and the Pro Chancellor, NITTE University was the chief guest for the event. “Mangaluru is a magnificent city which is different from all other cities that have several educational institutions, religious centers and hospital facilities for a population of six lakh,” he opined.
Fr Stanislaus D’souza, Provincial of Karnataka Jesuits conveyed the Christmas message. He said, “Christmas is an experience; it is a metaphor and a feast of generosity. The message of Christmas is love, beyond caste, creed and religion.”
Fr Denzil Lobo, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions welcomed the gathering. Dr A Lourdusamy, Head of the Post Graduate Department of English delivered the vote of thanks
Students with their vibrant and melodious carol singing entertained the gathering. Away from their busy schedule, the elite groups and prominent people enjoyed the mesmerizing celebration along with Christmas Agape.
