Mangalore: The South Mangalore MLA J.R. Lobo belongs in to a minority community, celebrated his Christmas party with a massage, at Kalangann on Dec.24 on the eve of the birth of holy Christ in a manger at mid night in Bethlehem. He spoke about development projects and money sanctioned under each such project for the benefit of common people. He gave his best wishes for a Merry Christmas to all concerned. Keshav Kundar of Udayavani and Roy Castelinho of Roy constructions cut a large Christmas cake and distributed the pieces to J R Lobo and other guests who had gathered at Kalangann on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion the socially conscious MLA stated that in DK district the planned projects were successfully being implemented by the engineers concerned in every way till the end. He complimented the two media for their corporation in explaining the work done and the publicity given to various projects in the interest of the people at large.
He informed that a sum of Rs. 43 lakhs for Malnad development works, and Rs.926 lakhs for all other works on hand were sanctioned as a gift for Christmas by the state Govt. For small scale irrigation projects in the state an amount of Rs. 5 crores have been sanctioned while Rs.50 lakhs are granted for Natural Disasters management, he added. The 3rd project of Rs 100 crores, temple development gets Rs 45 lacs, Rs 50 lacs for Sc and SC Developmnet, Rs 72 crores for Port and Fisheries development, he said.
The general fund is enriched Rs. 386.73 he told the gathering. Rs. 7.50 crores has been allotted to district court and road development around the courts in DK.
J R Lobe extended his greetings for Christmas 2013 and new year 2014 for all those in south Mangalore constituency and hoped the development projects undertaken so for would benefit them.
