Bangalore: The Lokayukta Court has ordered former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu to be present at the special court on July 23, as he was absent when 8 others sought bailment through applications in the KIADB land deal scandal on Tuesday here.
After the summons were issued, Naidu asked for more time to attend the court, but was absent during enquiries conducted by special Judge Sudheendra Rao in the Lokayukta Court. The other accused attended and sought bailment.
MLA Naidu was given summons 4 times, and a copy of the notice was pasted on his doors. Two others who were absent like him on the day of enquiry, were asked to report on July 23.
A Company owned by Katta had been sanctioned 325 acres of land worth Rs.87 crores. There is a charge on Katta that he misused the compensation provided to land losers. A charge sheet against 9 persons accused in the case was prepared in 18,000 pages and submitted to the Lokayukta special Court.
