Udupi:  MLA Raghupathi Bhat at the premises of Shri Siddivinayaka Temple near Manipal End Point offers bagina to River Swarna on August 28, Tuesday.

Speaking to the media representatives after offering bagina, he said that it was the dream and the traditional practices started by late Dr. V. S. Acharya of offering Bagina to River Swarna, which is the source of flowing water the people of Udupi.

He also said that he has offered bagina on account of residents of Udupi. The river swarna was not dredged in May month, due to the technical problems. If the dredging work will be done properly, then Udupi Municipality can provide sufficient water to all the 32 wards of Udupi, throughout the year.

He stated that the district administration is making an effort to establish of making steps to Shimbra Ghats, which was a dream project of Dr. Acharya.

Udupi TP president Devdas Hebbar, Udupi Municipality vice president Bharathi Chandrashekar; Vasudeva Bhat, and others were present.
