Mangaluru : After a statement by DC backing to the cattle transporters, the government-issued transfer order to Dakshina Kannda DC Sindhu B Roopesh and a threat message also posted in social media, soon after the statement of DC.
Reacting to the transfer of DC, MLA and former minister U T Khader has urged the state government to reveal the true reason behind the transfer of the erstwhile Dakshina Kannada DC Sindhu B Rupesh.
Speaking to media persons on July 30, Thursday, Khader said the district has seen the transfer of two deputy commissioners in a span of one year. But the district minister is stating that this is a routine transfer, Khader said adding there is no rule to replace a Deputy Commissioner within just six months. A DC has to serve a place for one or two years, he said adding the government must make known the actual reason for the transfer of the DC.
He also pointed out that neither the district minister nor the BJP MLAs of the district had condemned when someone issued a death threat to the DC in social media. However the BJP leaders had tried to take credit when the police department arrested the accused in the case, Khader said.
