Mangalore : MLA U T Khader inaugurated the two day Block level Rural Paika Sports meet and Mangalore Taluk level Dasara sports at Mangala Stadium on September 6, Tuesday.

The meet was jointly organized under the auspices of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Karnataka Sports Authority, and Mangalore Taluk Panchayat.

Speaking after inaugurating the sports meet, UT Khader said that sports will enhance students to develop their personality and increase social contact.

Many athletes, officials, trainers and managers participated in the event.

The athletes participated in several sports such as Volleyball, Kabbadai, Kho-kho, Football, individual and group events.

Bhavya Gangadhar Poojary, President of Mangalore Taluk Panchayat presided over.
