Manipal :  The Mangalore Mobile Forest Squad officials led by Jinendra Kanagavi, SP of Madikeri Squad, raided a hostel at Ananthanagar in Manipal and seized three valuable ivory idols from a person from Hosangady in Manjeshwar.

The idols were that of Goddess Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Lord Brahma. The arrested man is Ravindra Bhat (60). It is said the police also want a person named Jagdish Pai in this case.

Sources said Ravindra planned to sell the idols to a family in Manipal which wanted it.

Investigations are in progress.
