Mangaluru :  A mobile shop owner of Baikampady has been arrested after a  young woman lodged a  complaint alleging that  he had raped her.

The Accused Munna alias Ibrahim, a resident of Kinnigoli, has been arrested.

The girl said that she had visited the mobile shop run by the accused for acquiring mobile phone and SIM card. Using this opportunity, the man reportedly contacted the girl on phone, duly hiding his real identity.

He acted like having fallen in love with the girl, and raped her in August 2021 in a lodge. The girl also claimed that she was threatened not to reveal this fact to others.
