Mangaluru : The All-India Congress Committee (AICC) is yet to finalise the secular front to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka and other States in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, said AICC secretary Saleem Ahmed here on Sunday.

Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Ahmed said the coalition between the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) will be well received in Karnataka and it will win most seats in Karnataka.

Mr. Ahmed said the party will go to the people and show the failure of the BJP-led NDA government in bringing “Achhe Din” to the country.

The party will highlight, among others, the failure of the Union government in reducing the prices of fuel and bringing back ‘black money’ reportedly stocked in foreign tax havens.

Though the party got its share of votes in the Assembly elections in Karnataka, it could not win seats, he said. “We failed to reach out to people the works of the Siddararamaiah government,” he said.

Mr. Ahmed said the countdown for the BJP has started and Narendra Modi will not get a second term as Prime Minister.

On the lack of consensus among other parties in accepting AICC president Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candiate, Mr. Ahmed said that many parties had openly expressed their support for Mr. Gandhi. The Congress will build the consensus, he said.

Mr. Ahmed said that the Congress will win majority of seats in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
