Mangalore : Moidin Bava has been confirmed a ticket from the Congress from Mangalore North constituency. Bava will face sitting MLA Krishna Palemar from the constituency. Bava had lost against Palemar in the 2008 assembly elections.

The name of Bava was among the 40 names in the second list of candidates released by the Congress. There was a keen tussle between Bava and former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty from the constituency. The supporters of the two had even clashed at the Mangalore airport recently over the issue of ticket and in their hurry to meet senior leader Oscar Fernandes.

Though the name of Kripa Alva was initially doing the rounds, both Bava and Shetty had reportedly come in the way of the party granting her a ticket.
