Mangalore: M.Veerappa Moily who was recently removed as Union Low minister, and was a member of 5man ministerial Committee drafting a Lokpal bill, commented in Mangalore at the airport before leaving for New Delhi on Tuesday morning, that he did not know whether they (the 5 civilians including Hazare, Kejriwal and Justice N. Santosh Hegde in the same Committee of 10), were really keen on having a Lokpal. He wanted them to make it clear, if they had any other “invisible agenda”.
He said Hazare’s call to Confront MPs and ministers at their residences was undermining the Constitution. He asked whether such MPs surrounded by agitators, should not go to Parliament and pass a bill.
He thought the call amounted to inviting anarchy. Should that prevail, or a rule of law, queried the ex-law minister.
Meanwhile, new Law minister Salman Khushid met Kejriwal at Ramlila grounds and had talks before moving out in a car in Delhi, this afternoon.(August 23)
Moily at Kenjaru MIA, said six principles in the draft had created some reservations about Constitutional changes. They were referred to a standing Committee. But for them, the bill would be passed in the last session, he claimed. The Corporate Affairs minister on Company Law rushed to Delhi on a call, cutting short his Monday programmes, but he made matters, worse by his argumentative ‘do nothing’ attitude by Hazare’s group.
