Mangalore : BJP leader and MLC Monappa Bhandari has said that the former Suratkal MLA Vijaykumar Shetty  was a rejected leader of the Congress who has lost his base in the party, but was now speaking in favour of party leaders just with an eye on grabbing party ticket to contest the next elections.

Speaking to  reporters in Mangalore on October 30, Tuesday, he took Shetty to task for  challenging the   declaration of  assets by district minister  CT Ravi and demanded that Shetty reveal his assets and its source. He also sought an explanation from Shetty to the rumours that he has earned enough through SEZ.

On the Congress claims of release of funds by Centre to the state, Monappa Bhandari  questioned as to what the Congress leaders had to say  about the Centre’s failure to release the much needed funds for drought relief.

Several BJP leaders including Srikar Prabhu, Sumana Sharan and Pushpalatha Shetty were present at the press meet.
