Mangalore: A group of Hindu activists, allegedly belonging to the Hindu Jana Jagarana Vedike, raided the Morning Mist Home Stay at Padil in the outskirts of the city on July 28, Saturday night, have attacked the girls and boys who were partying there. The incident triggered some tension in area as hundreds gathered at the spot. Senior police officials too rushed to the spot.
According to the activists, the boys and girls were engaged in dancing and drinking and unwelcome activities. One of the activists was even seen slapping a girl and banging her head even as she tried to escape. Five boys and three girls were found at the Home Stay when the raid took place.
Some locals said they had been complaining since long about the partying in the Home Stay which caused disturbance and that the police failed to take action forcing them to approach the Hindu activists.
Home minister warns strict action : Meanwhile, reacting to the raid on Morning Mist Home stay at Padil, Home Minister and Deputy Chief minister R Ashok has warned of strict action and has said that there was no question of letting go any individual or organization whoever was behind it.
