Mangaluru : Police have arrested two men on the charges of moral policing in the city on Monday evening. The duo had followed a young man and a woman who were travelling in a two-wheeler for the sole reason that they belonged to different communities. They had intercepted the two-wheeler and had questioned the riders.

Those arrested are Akshay Rao and Shibin Padikal.

The young man and the woman who were colleagues at a firm at Mulihitlu were returning in a two-wheeler at around 8 pm on November 27. They had got a mobile phone repaired at a shop and were heading from Milagres Church road towards Bhagini Samaj when they were intercepted and questioned. Soon a large crowd gathered and the Hoysala police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.
