Udupi: Some film actors have arrived in town to add glamour to a by-poll that has no relevance to any party’s future, but for the keen struggle put up by two national parties and a local splinter group in state.
Ramya is due to address youth voters of NSUI as a Congress Campaigner and proceed in a walking expedition to garner votes for JP Hedge. Oscar Fernandes, MP and AICC secretary, flags off the march at 4PM on Thursday.
Top Congress leaders will join in, and address meetings at street corners. Bhavana and Adi Lokesh have joined Congress to follow Ramya in the march. They addressed some small groups to seek votes.
KPCC Secretary Umashree, another film star, said all these film personalities were never forced to join Congress. They were inspired by Rahul Gandhi, Lokesh said.
