Mangalore: Delivery of a baby under normal circumstances can be very painful and Cause the death of the mother, if not looked after properly. The Infant mortality also Cannot be ruled out. Operations also Cause death. Only when everything is ok there is relief.

Sujata(28) died of severe bleeding after the delivery of her baby due to postnatal complications, but her husband Suresh accused the doctor and nurses attending on the delivery, of negligence.

He Complained to Ullal police station. In his memo, he said his wife was admitted to KSH Hospital on April 5 at Derlakatta, and she had a normal delivery at 3PM on April 7(Saturday), with a girl born to her.

Due to her severe bleeding, the doctors opted to remove her uterus. But when Suresh rang up at 6PM that day, the concerned doctor did not provide proper information. Suresh arrived at the icu and touched Sujata but she did not respond.

The doctor told Suresh of Sujata’s death only at 9PM the complaint alleged.  Ullal Police station has registered the case. Hospital Sources said death was due to hemorrhage but the baby is healthy.
