Mangalore : A motorcyclist was killed when a lorry moving in the same direction ran over him, when he was trying to escape the pothole near Ekkur Railway Bridge on Sunday.

Reportedly, Kankanady police say that, deceased youth was of around 25 years old, was on a Pulsar bike. He was wearing coffee-colored pants and a grey striped shirt. The body is difficult to identify, since it is badly disfigured. Currently, it is kept in the morgue of  Wenlock Hospital.

According to the Eyewitnesses the motorcyclist was attempting to overtake the lorry, which was moving from Pumpwell to Thokkottu. In this situation, he fell in a pothole, lost his balance, and was thrown off the bike.

The pillion rider came out with minor injuries, while lorry ran over the rider killing him on the spot.

The victim is yet to be identified. Kankanady police have registered a case.
