Mangalore : Bangalore South MP and BJP leader Ananth Kumar said that DH Shankarmurthy and Capt Ganesh Karnik are the able candidates for the graduate and teachers constituency and people must cast their vote to both the candidates to bring development in education.

He was speaking at the press representatives during the election campaign at Sharadha Vidyalaya on June 2, Saturday. He said that today Rahul Gandhi arrived to Karnataka just for politics and not to help for the distress people of 26 district and 126 taluks.

He also said that a month back Sonia Gandhi visited Karnataka to inspect the problem of the state and later said to discuss it u\with union ministers like PM Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram and Pranab Mukherjee to provide the fund of Rs 283 crore to the state in distress, but she sanctioned only Rs 73 crores as compensation to the flood distress state and told to adjust it.

He warned Rahul Gandhi not to use politics in such situation where the poor people need food and drinking water. Now Rahul Gandhi will visit flood distress places and will not give report to PM, but he is ready to give any kind of package to Maharashtra and other state, he said.

During this visit Rahul must assure people to provide the fund of Rs 1,500 crore for the state development and 1,300 metric ton of rice and 1,500 metric ton of wheat for the poor people of the state.

During the flood distress, the union officials visited the places for two times after three week and three months to report it to the department. If this is the case, will the people eat food after three months, he asked.

He said that when he was a central minister, he had sanctioned three and half metric ton of rice in three days, he said.
