Mangalore : Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), Bondel, Mangalore, in association with Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL), hosted the MRPL-MSNIM Vigilance Awareness Competitions 2024 as part of MRPL’s Vigilance Awareness Week. The theme for this year was ‘Culture of Integrity for the Nation’s Prosperity.’ The initiative aims to raise public awareness about corruption and encourage collective efforts to combat it.
The competitions included Quiz (Online & Offline), Poster Making, Essay (Online), Street Play, and Elocution. Students from various degree colleges in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts enthusiastically participated in the event, which took place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the MSNIM campus in Bondel, Mangalore.
Ganesh S. Bhat, Chief Vigilance Officer, MRPL, was the Chief Guest for the valedictory programme and prize distribution ceremony, which were held in the evening. Manel Annappa Nayak, President, Women’s National Education Society (WNES), presided over the programme. MRPL’s Chief General Manager (Vigilance) Lakshmeesh Bhat, Chief Manager (Vigilance) Rakesh Lobo, Senior Manager (Vigilance) Lakshmi K. and Partha Pratim Goswami, Manager (Vigilance) were present.
In his address, Ganesh S. Bhat emphasized the significance of vigilance in all sectors and the non-negotiable nature of integrity. “MRPL celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week annually in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary,” he noted. In his presidential address, Manel Annappa Nayak highlighted the role of vigilance in upholding integrity within the oil and petroleum industries. He stressed the need for collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and the general public to reduce corruption and promote integrity.
The institute Director Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri welcomed the gathering. Dibyendu Saha, Senior Manager (Vigilance), MRPL, gave a briefing about the programme. Jimmy Jaisingh Malik, Chief Manager (Vigilance), MRPL, administered the integrity pledge. Dr. Shilpi Saha, assistant professor, gave a report on the programme. Aditi Kamath, Assistant Professor, conducted the prize distribution ceremony. Dr. Reema Agnes Frank, Associate Professor, gave the vote of thanks. Nanditha Sunil, assistant professor, anchored the programme.
