Mangalore : The people affected by the land acquisition process held by the Mangalore SEZ (MSEZ) staged protest in front of MSEZ office in Urva Store on Jan 5, Wednesday.
According to the protestors the MSEZ had assured to provide job opportunity to the children of land acquired owners 5 years back. The organization have started training the children from past three and half years and already 200 students have been trained and 200 are being trained at present, but no job has been provided so far.
There are many students who discontinued there SSLC and PUC courses and joined the training to benefit the job, but nothing improvement was seen in the process.
Hence, more than 400 protestors gathered near the office and demanded for justice.
Victims claim that they have neither been compensated nor been given any employment as promised by MSEZ. Later the AG Pai of MSEZ assured the protestors to fulfill their demands as soon as possible.
