Mangaluru : A One Day workshop on start-ups was hosted by MSNM Besant Institute of Post Graduate Studies in association with Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday, 19th February 2020 at Nethravathi Auditorium at MSNM Besant campus at Bondel, Mangaluru.
Isaac Vas, President of KCCI inaugurated the workshop. Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, President of Womens’ National Education Society (WNES) presided over the programme. There were 96 participants in the workshop comprising members from corporates, faculty members and students from institutes in and around Mangaluru.
Addressing the gathering, Isaac Vas said that there are three types of entrepreneurs: Those who do business solely for profit, those who believe in giving best products and services to consumers and lastly those who want to bring about change. “Entrepreneurs are dreamers who want to make a difference. To be an entrepreneur one should be brilliant and crazy,” he said.
He advised the delegates to harbor high entrepreneurial vision. “The world is changing demographically and there is enough space for new entrants in business,” he said. “Profit is no longer the first objective. Today moral capital and social obligations are considered to be of greater importance.”
The objective of the workshop was to enable the participants to understand the processes, challenges, risks and rewards involved in starting a new business. It also aimed to equip them with tools required to start their own business and to provide deep understanding on legal procedures required for start-ups
Mr. Ajith Kamath K., Mr. Naveen Narayan, Mr. Santosh Prabhu, Dr. Madanmohan Rao and Mr. Avinash Karanth are the resource persons for the workshop. WNES Vice President Manel Annappa Nayak and members Nagar Narayan Shenoy and Raghav Kamath were present.
Rahasya Pai Maroor, Member, KCCI welcomed the gathering. Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri, Director of MSNM Institute gave a vote of thanks. Muddassir Khadar, Asst. Professor, was the programme compere.
