Mangalore: The “Challenge Valuation”(or re-valuation under suspicion of injustice in the Valuation already made) guidelines for only post-graduate courses, was accorded sanction in an Academic Council meeting held at Konaje Mangalore University on Thursday(February 5).
Vice-Chancellor Prof TCS Murthy chaired the academic meeting.
A prescribed fee is paid by a PG student, before he can challenge the valuation of his answer scripts, within 20 days after the publication of results, if he is dissatisfied with the result.
He can also do so within 10 days from the date of dispatch of his marks card/s.
He can also apply through his college within 7 days from the date of communication of the result of re-totaling, whichever is later.
Prof. Murthy informed the gathering that there was a difference between marks awarded initially, and on Challenge (re-valuation) and that final marks shall be the average of 2 awards made.
If the candidate is having advantage in the final award of marks to the extent of more then 10%, 50% of the fee paid by him is refundable to him. Other matters were taken up and discussed.
