Mangaluru: A 51-year-old man who had hanged himself at a quarantine centre here on Thursday morning, has tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday May 22.
The deceased, a resident of Kadandale was placed under mandatory institutional quarantine functioning at a school upon his return from Mumbai. He allegedly hanged himself at the quarantine centre as he was worried about his employment prospects due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
The deceased’s swab was tested on the same day. The report came as positive on Friday. He was cremated at Boloor burial ground according to government guidelines.
With this the death fatality in the district rose to six.
