Kaup: The muhurtham for the mega Tulu-Kannada teleserial Koti-Chennaya based on the life of legendary folk personalities of Tulunad, was performed by Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt at the Katapady Enagudde Sri Brahma Baidarkala Garadi on June 27, Wednesday. The serial which will be aired on Chandana channel and will be produced under the banner Praja Films of Katapady.

Speaking on the occasion, the seer said the life of Koti Chennaya was a model to everyone. Sri Vikhyatananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Bolyottu Gurukripa Sevashram of Karkala, blessed the occasion.

Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari, who presided over the function, said Koti- Chennaya are legendary personalities not only to the Billawa community but to the entire humanity. He also hoped that the serial would create a new record.

Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva‘s Education Foundation Moodbidri, switched on the camera. ZP Chief Katapady Shanker Poojari, Lalaji Mendon, Kaup MLA, Vasanth V Salian, former minister, Sairam, Managing Trustee of Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple Mangalore, writers Ganesh Amin Sankamar, Dr Vamana Nandavar, Jagadish Adhikari, Vice President of the Jaya Shree Krishna Parisara Premi Samithi and others were present on the occasion.

Ashok Suvarna Katapady, producer of the serial and President of the management Board of Katapady Sri Vishwanatha Kshetra, Chandrahas Alva, Director and others were present on the occasion.
