Mangalore:  The new minister for Mujrai and Ports Kota Srinivas Poojari got a rousing reception on his arrival in Mangalore on July 17, Tuesday. Party workers accorded him a warm welcome by bursting crackers in front of the BJP office in Mangalore.

Shetty was warmly felicitated on behalf of the party in the city. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA and Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat and District BJP President Padmanabha Kottari were among others present on the occasion.

Speaking to reporters, Poojari termed the Madesnana controversy as a serious issue and added the government would make a conscious move after consultations and would soon come out with a decision.

Paying rich tributes to Late Dr VS Acharya, Poojari promised that he would strive to carry forward the good works done by the former. He also said as a mujrai minister he would ensure steps to maintain cleanliness sin an around temples.
