Udupi : A Home Guard who was critically injured in a road mishap at Udyavar has succumbed to his injuries at a hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

The deceased is Rakesh (27). He was a Home Guard attached to the Mulki station and was returning home in his car after night duty when his car rammed into a tanker from behind on June 30, Wednesday. Rakesh who hailed from Kubevoor is the son of Varija and Shantharam. He had suffered serious injuries to his head and legs in the mishap.
