Mangalore : As a part of four-day Konkani cultural festival ‘Aami Konkani’, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy organized Multilingual Poet’s Meet at ‘Konkani Mantov’ at Academy office on Nov 24, Saturday.
Delivering the presidential address, renowned poet, short stories author and movie songs scriptwriter in Kannada Jayanth Kaikini said that India is a roof with several poles, likewise the poets from various languages will make an event.
Each poet will have their own ideas to share with each other. The poet is a hook between a person and his feelings, he said.
A poet is a poet only when he writes and do not have any religion. Poet usually will have a pressure of money and time.
DK is known for education, banks and other fields simultaneously now a days it s also known for rape, murder and communal clashes.
Todays life there is pressure for education in children and snatching the enjoyment gained from the extracurricular activities.
Poets like Manohar Prasad, Katyaini Kunjibettu, Dr Vaman Nandavar, Raghu Idkidhu, B A Mohammed, Hameed P S, Shakuntala R Kini and other read their poem in their specialed languages.
Academy president Kasargod Chinna welcomed the guests and gathering. Registrr B Devdas Pai proposed vote of thanks and Mahesh R Nayak, member compered the programme.
