Mangaluru: A gram panchayat official was found hanging inside the panchayat office toilet here on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Krishnaswamy (47), panchayat development officer (PDO) of Munnur gram panchayat.

Police have received a death note which stated that he alone was responsible for his death. He has also requested the government to provide a job to his wife so that she can look after their only daughter.

Ullal police have registered a case.
